We have been so BUSY at the studio! No complaints here though. We have done several portrait sessions for families, two seniors and Santa portraits. We had lots of kids and doggies in the studio the weekend after Thanksgiving to visit Santa and have their photo taken. We had so much fun, we are definitely having Santa back next year. And the Grinch might come for a visit too. We still have some time left before our Grand Opening Special expires so remember to call and schedule!

Grand Opening

The Grand Opening went wonderfully! Lots of people stopped out to see us and the other businesses in NB that had something going on. Everyone seemed so excited to have us opening there and we were so excited to meet so many people! 100.5 did a remote broadcast for a few hours in the morning and the old movie theater reopened with a new owner and there is a new country store and cabinet maker so there was tons going on! We were a little disappointed when Channel 11 News called to say they were coming down to interview us and when they got there they visited the other businesses and not us.. But the rest of the day was great. We still have some spots open for the Santa Portraits but they are filling up quick! Call soon to schedule!

Santa Portraits

All I can say is WOW! We have been working our butts off. We have been at the studio pretty much every day getting ready and still coming home to work on the portrait/wedding stuff we have had going on. Luckily pretty much all the "work" is done at the studio. Eric and my mom are going over tomorrow night to do all the cleaning, I have some last minute shopping to do and "stuff" to do. (Like how I got out that one?:-) he he he) I can't wait to start having people book sessions and reap the results of all our hard work with beautiful portraits!

Brooke and Jason - Wedding

We had a wonderful day yesterday with Brooke and Jason. They were married in Ada and had their reception at Ohio Northern University. We were hoping to be able to get some photos on the beautiful campus as ONU. The weather almost didn't cooperate. It was a little rainy, very windy and pretty cold earlier in the day. By the time the ceremony rolled around it had cleared up but was still pretty chilly and windy. The bridal party suffered through one quick photo before the reception started but Brooke and Jason braved it long enough for us to grab a few photos of them. Brooke had a gorgeous dress with the most interesting detail on the side and looked like a million bucks. She and Jason make such a nice couple. They had something I had never had the pleasure of eating and was very excited to taste - raspberry cake! It was divine and had my favorite icing. The whole cake was very elegant and absolutely gorgeous. Congratulation Jason and Brooke!

Studio Grand Opening

Well, Eric and the studio were. Eric went down today and one of the other business owners was meeting with Channel 11 News so he did a story about all of the businesses opening in North Baltimore soon and did a short interview with Eric. It was short but very exciting! Yeah!

Jamie and Andy - Wedding 10/3/09

Jamie and Andy were married this past Saturday and we had a great time photographing their wedding. They are so cute together and you can tell their families really love to be welcoming the addition of a new son or daughter. Their 2 little girls were the flower girls and they were just so adorable! We had an interesting little foray into Michigan, which is where their reception was. It was a miracle we didn't get lost, owed to blind faith in google maps directions even though they were extremely confusing. Anyway, the reception was gorgeous and everyone seemed to have a great time. Congratulations Andy and Jamie!!

Studio - Update

The end is near! We are finally at a point when we can see the fruits of our labor. A lot of the major work is in progress or nearly finished and things are starting to come together. Most of it looks like a whole new building. This is a photo of the dressing room. There are a few final touches and then it will be finished. We can't wait to show it off to everyone!

Studio - Update

We spent the day working at the studio. THANKS to my Mom, Grandma and Aunt Pam we have almost the whole reception area and hall painted. Kennedy was supervising and making sure no one interrupted our work. Which means that she stared out the window and barked at everyone that walked by. There is a ledge in the front window that she likes to lay on and bask in the sun, she thanked us for putting it there for her...This a photo from my phone of her guarding the place.

Bridal Show

We had a bridal show at the Pinnacle in Maumee today. It went great! Our friend Allison came out and helped us. It was nice to have a former bride there to do a bit of testimonial, she gushed about how great we were so much that a few times I had to tell people that we weren't paying her just so they didn't think it was fake! Thanks Allison, you're the best!! That is always a fun show and we were happy to meet so many nice brides.
Tomorrow - working on the studio! A lot of our days are going to be filled with that in the near future. It is going to be wonderful when we are ready to open.

Opening a Studio

We are opening a studio!! This may or may not be news to you... For those of you who did not know (which is most of you...) we are opening a Photography Studio in North Baltimore. We started working on it today. Saturday and Sunday we spent outlining the work that needed to be done and buying the supplies at Home Depot and today we started painting the trim and door area on the outside. There is lots of work to be done (especially painting) so feel free to offer a hand, or two! He He He. We are hoping to open at the beginning of October and will keep you posted about the progress and will get some pics up soon. We took Kennedy over today to get her used to being there because we plan to have her with us a lot and I jokingly asked her if she wanted to me dye her hair black. Well, she got some on herself when laying down on a tarp I had splashed on so she has a few black dots on her fur. The same tarp I sat on and got black spots on my but...oops.

Kristen and Shane - Wedding 8/19/09

Busy week! We actually had 2 weddings this past week. The first was on a Wednesday! Kristen and Shane live in Colorado (I think, I keep getting confused and know for sure it is out west...). Since they had to make the drive out here they decided to do a very low key affair at Kristen's parents home in the country. They invited only immediate family and had an intimate ceremony in the backyard and then a wedding luncheon after. Kristen loves all things vintage and was having trouble finding a dress she liked so she ended up wearing her mom's wedding gown and veil, good thing they are the same size! It looked perfect on Kristen and you could tell she was so happy about it. Congratulations Kristen and Shane!

Amanda and Phil - Wedding 8/22/09

Amanda and Phil were married at St Joseph's in Tiffin and their reception was at Meadowbrook park in Bascom. We had a superb day with them. We were on a TIGHT schedule after the ceremony to get some family and bridal party photos in at the church before services started but everyone was prepared to start right away and we ended up with time to spare! After that we headed to the Tiffin Development Center for some "park" photos where we spent half the time picking bugs out of the layers of Amanda's dress...We took some gorgeous photos on the bridge over a little creek there. We had never been to Meadobrook before but the building there is gorgeous. It in one large round room with windows all around. I had some lemon cake that was absolutely scrumptious! Congratulations Phil and Amanda!!

Jenn and Nick - 8/8/09 Wedding

Yesterday we joined Jenn and Nick for their wedding. It was quite a day...The ceremony was at the Toledo Botanical Gardens, and it was RAINING! We started out several hours prior to the ceremony to get the "formal" photos so for a while we were relegated to the gazebo where the ceremony was taking place. Finally after a while it stopped raining to we were able to move on to the gardens and other areas of the park. Everyone made the best of the weather and it actually ran pretty smoothly. They were so much fun to work with and Jenn looked so great, you never would have known she spent several hours in the rain! The wedding cake was so yummy Eric even ate his own piece for once! I had the chocolate which was very moist and a little mocha tasting, mmmmmm. Thanks Nick and Jenn for a great day!

So last weekend we took a few photos of my Dads siblings. They get together and celebrate thier birthdays when they are all in the same decade, I won't say which they were celebrating this time... So we went to the farm where they grew up and took some photos and ate some yummy cake. This was one of my favorites.

Brian and Ann - Wedding 7/18/09

Yesterday was a GREAT day for an outdoor wedding. Ann and Brian were married outside in garden area of the Hilton Garden Inn at Levis Commons and then had their reception in the ballroom. The weather was perfect and the beautiful location allowed us to change up the scenery a lot. Being big Ohio State University fans there was a lot of scarlet and grey. You may not have noticed as most of the touches were very subtle, until you saw the cake...It was very elegant with 3 tiers of white frosting with grey swirls and edged with scarlet ribbon, and a topper depicting the groom dragging away a little blonde bride from and OSU game! We had a wonderful time working with Ann, Brian and their families and what a beautiful wedding!

Jamie and Andy - Engagement

Andy and Jamie joined us at Pearson Park in Oregon last night for and Engagement Session. It was looking a little rainy (it actually was raining in BG when we were leaving), but it blew over and turned out to be perfect for photos. They are the most adorable couple! They said they would do whatever we wanted and were good sports, even when I kept making Andy take his shoes and socks off to get the shot I wanted...We had been to Pearson a few times before but this time we found some things we never had before, including a vintage London-style phone booth!! I was so excited, it was stinking cute and Andy said it so fit Jamie...I'm sure Eric wouldn't say the same about me right? We are so excited to do their wedding photography in October!!

3 month Baby Session - P. and A.

Last night we had a 3 month baby session for our friends twins. They are the cutest little things. They will actually not be 3 mo. until next week but we were trying to squeeze it in quick. We had a great time! They were so well behaved, which is usually pretty normal. A. believes that she is a supermodel in training and vogues for the camera. They are very photogenic (they take after Auntie Nicole) and liked watching Eric take photos. I can't wait until the photos are done so everyone can see how adorable they are!

Emily and Adrian - Wedding

Emily and Adrian were married today, in Port Clinton, very early. We all know what a morning person I am....Eric drug me out of bed anyway with the promise of cini-mini's and boy was it worth it! We had a great day with them and it was so nice out. Emily looked like a 1940's Hollywood glam movie star, she was gorgeous. So, even though we were running a little behind I am so happy that they let me convince them to go to the lighthouse for some couple photos. Not only did we get some great ones, it was fun. After each one Adrian kept giving me looks because I just kept saying one more, but they were so beautiful I didn't want to stop! Anyway, great ceremony, great people, great reception and great cake! Thank you Adrian and Emily (and your wonderful families) for allowing us to be part of your day. Congratulations and best of luck on your future together!
P.S. Because we were done early in the afternoon we decided to take our time getting home. We stopped at the Cheese Haven and bought some very yummy 14 yr old cheddar, a farmers market for some veggies and visited a few antique stores. We had a great day!

Ann and Brian - Engagement Session

Last night we were with Brian and Ann for their Engagement Session. We are photographing their wedding in July. We had tried to schedule an engagement session last fall but you know Ohio weather... We went to Wildwood Nature Preserve, we had only been there once before for a wedding. It is so pretty there. We had a great time with them. It was a very relaxed session and we got some great shots. We are really looking forward working with them for their wedding. We know we will have just as much fun! Thanks Ann and Brian!!

Yesterday we were at the wedding of Sarah and Scott at the Ramada. They had their ceremony in the Atrium and the reception in the Grand Ballroom. Sarah looked simply gorgeous! We really enjoyed being a part of their day and felt very welcomed by their family. We all know I am addicted to cake and they may have had my favorite ever! It was from Cake Arts Supply and not only looked spectacular but tasted that way too. (I think Eric's piece tasted even better than mine...) Kristen and Jason - Wedding

Kristen and Jason were married last Friday, May 1. Most of the day was gorgeous and sunny but regardless of the weather their wedding was perfect. Their style and attention to detail showed in every aspect of the day. The ceremony was at the Collingwood Presbyterian Church and the reception was at Tamaron Country Club, both great places for photos. We didn't get to do much at the Country Club but the front of the church was perfect for bridal party and couple shots. We had an absolutely great time working with them (and their friends and family) and were so happy to have had the opportunity. Congratulations Kristen and Jason! What a great wedding to start the summer with, one of our best ever!

Jackie and Matt - Wedding

Jackie and Matt were a blast to work with. They are very laid back and fun-loving people. They were married at Otsego Park in front of the river and had their reception in the stone shelter. Their wedding was a small and intimate affair that Jackie couldn't wait to get dancing at. It was evident to everyone that their family's love them very much. Matt's dad officiated their ceremony and Jackie's dad sang a solo during it. Matt and Jackie went to Florida for their honeymoon, sort of. They are moving there and left a few days after the wedding so everyone sort of saw the wedding as a bon voyage party. Good Luck in your new life Jackie and Matt!

Well, there are always photos of everyone else at their wedding on here but never any of us at them! Although occasionally you do see me helping with the train or lurking in the background in a few. At our last wedding Eric was taking a few test photos and took these 2 shots of me and I thought they turned out pretty cute. Not that I'm biased or anything. He always thinks I'm a dork when I ham for the camera, but see, my hard work does pay off! We have one more wedding for August tomorrow and then a little break to try to catch up a little.

8/9/08 - Whittney and Phil

I have 3 words to say about yesterday: What A Party!
We had another Wedding yesterday. We left the house about 10 minutes before eight in the morning and left the reception about 10 minutes to nine that evening. We did get almost a 2 hour break in between. (Eric took a nap; I finished a book, posted a wedding and responded to emails) Whittney and Phil were married at St Wendolin Church at 10:00am. Which is why I was coerced into getting up so early. They were on a strict time schedule so we had to get as many photos as possible done before the ceremony so we could be out before the next wedding arrived. It was a beautiful ceremony, their priest definitely knows them well. The bridesmaids all looked gorgeous in short black dresses that they were able to choose themselves which made a perfect backdrop for the bright flowers in their bouquets.
After formal photos at the church we all went back to Whittney and Phil's house for some more fun photos. Someone pulled out Phil's Harley (He broke his hand last week and couldn't) and there were some cool shots with that.
It was a perfect day for a Wedding and great for photos. We had a great time, everyone was so much fun. Congratulations Phil and Whittney!

Brittany and Josh

Today we had Brittany and Josh's Wedding. And it turned out to be an absolutely wonderful day. They were married at Ohio Northern University in the Ballroom. The weather was very cooperative so we were able to take most of the photos on the beautiful grounds of ONU. The photo below is from the engagement session we did with them there. The Bride and Groom look so beautiful together and I can't wait to see the photos we got. They are downloading right now and we will post a few in the next couple days. Brittany, Josh and their friends and family spent a lot of time and effort decorating the Ballroom for the ceremony and the reception hall in Kenton, and boy did it show. They must have spent days on the floral arrangements and bouquets alone. Brittany was worried that the guys were going to be hard to handle for pictures but Eric told her that I'm a tyrant and could handle them. It turned out they were quite well behaved and we were actually ahead of schedule for once! Brittany and Josh are such a gorgeous couple and we had such a superb time working with them. We were already talking about when we would get to do more photos for them. Congratulations Brittany and Josh!!

7/12/08 - Becky and Brett

We had a wedding with a couple that is very dedicated to each other last weekend and it was such an honor to take part in their special day. Brett and Becky are from Michigan and had their wedding and reception at their church. The decorators did an absolute wonderful job and transformed the reception into a sparkly garden. The hydrangeas that were everywhere were spectacular, I have never seen better. And all the tulle and sparkle lights were magical. The Happy Couple had so many well-wishers to share in their day the reception was packed, almost standing room only! It was so obvious that Brett and Becky are very active with their family and church community and everyone was so happy to share in their joy and be a part in the beginning of their new life together. Our plans were spoiled a little in the fact that we did not get to go to a nearby park like we had planned for bridal party photos. It rained fairly heavy in the morning and was still too wet to risk the wedding wear prior to the ceremony. We did get a few shots of Becky and Brett outside afterwards so that was good. Congratulations Becky and Brett!!

On another note: We had a computer virus last which is part of the reason this post is so late. Sorry!! Luckily we did not lose anything imperative (a.k.a. PHOTOS). Thank the stars for backing up! It did however set us back with workflow and was extremely stressful. I think we have the computer all back up and running now though so hopefully we'll get everything caught up quickly!

Last week was a busy week. Wednesday we attended a seminar in Columbus with the photographer Ed Pierce. He does absolutely amazing work. It was very exciting and we learned a lot.

On Saturday we had another wonderful wedding. Megan and Aaron had their wedding and reception in Oregon, Ohio. Megan was the most stress free bride I have seen in a long time. She wasn't worried about a thing and just took the day as it came. The ceremony was very nice and Megan looked gorgeous in her dress. Her veil was the same one her mother wore when she married Megan's father 30 years ago and Megan's sister, Kristen, wore it for her wedding 5 years ago. Their reception was a great time for everyone. And the cake...mmmm, the cake was absolutely delicious. At our last meeting Megan and Aaron has told us of the trouble they had with the original baker they were going to use and how excited they were about working with Eston's. I know they thought in the end it had worked out for the best and I have to agree. We really enjoyed our day with Megan, Aaron and their families and are so glad they let us be a part of it. Congratulations Megan and Aaron! You are such a sweet couple and we wish you the best of luck in your new life together!

Ilana and Shawn Wedding

On Saturday we had another wedding. Shawn and Ilana are a very complimentary couple. They had a lovely wedding set at the Courtyard at the Navy. It was a very windy day in Northwest Ohio. We had to run inside while trying to get some photos of the guys before the wedding due to a sudden rainstorm that was accompanied by extremely heavy wind gusts but at least we made the best of it. Luckily the ceremony was under a tent at the side of the building that kept everyone sheltered during it. We did have to move the photos after the ceremony inside due to the strong winds though. It was so windy that it blew Ilana's veil right off of her head! Luckily one of the bridesmaids was standing in just the right spot downwind to grab it before it went into the river. It really was a wonderful evening of food(which was delicious), fellowship, and love (which was certainly not lacking in any corner of the room). Ilana and Shawn were surrounded by wonderful friends and family who just couldn't stop wishing them well! There were several toasts through the night and each was more beautiful than the last. Last night (Thursday) we went to another Resonant Soul show. They were asked by a British "football" (soccer) team to wear their jerseys during a concert so they could have a photo in the teams programs. What an awesome opportunity for them! We were totally psyched to be a part of it. So the show was of course great the crowd loved them, they played several songs past their set. They really are great performers. Not only is their music good but they really entertain. I will be posting a few pics to go along with this tomorrow.
Busy day/weekend ahead of us. We are both off work today but have a full day planned. Sunday we have a final meeting with a bride and groom for a May wedding, Megan and Aaron. We are looking forward to seeing them again and hearing what they have planned for their wedding. Next Saturday is another wedding, Ilana and Shawn. They are having a ceremony and reception at Courtyard at the Navy. We have worked with Ilana's family before and loved every moment of it so we are really excited to be working with them again and are looking forward to meeting Shawn's family. Last fall we were lucky enough to photograph Ilana's sister Allison's wedding to Jeff. Jeff and Allison are just spectacular and made the whole day a blast. Below is a photo of them.

First wedding of the year

Saturday held our first wedding of the season. Sam and Hollie were married at The Neiderhouser hall at Olander Park. We had not been there before and thought it was perfect for a small intimate wedding. As far as spring in Ohio goes it was a good day. The rain was a little threatening and forced the ceremony indoors as a precaution but we were still able to get photos outside before it got too cold, or rained on us. Hollie was a little chilly by the end but she was a champ and toughed it out. Hollie was absolutely gorgeous in her dress. It reminded me of 1940's Hollywood glamour. Hollie and Sam are very lucky to be surrounded by great families. You could really tell that that they are all very close and really were there to support the beginning of their lives together. And Sam's son Kolin is just the cutest thing. You can see from the pic above that he was really hamming it up for the camera. Hollie kept bribing him with the promise of the chocolate fountain but I don't think he needed it. Their reception was a blast! Ron from Decorative Sound kept everyone dancing and having fun well into the night. Everyone seemed to be having such a great time and the dancing was lively! The wedding cake was not only beautiful but also wonderfully delicious. The chocolate also had chocolate chips in it, mmmmm. Sam, Hollie and their families were such wonderful people and a blast to spend the day with! We are so glad we had the opportunity to work with them.

And so it begins......

Last night was super busy for us. First we had a meeting with a bride and her family to finalize her wedding photography package and discuss her wedding. It was someone I went to school with so it was nice to catch up. Then we went to a charity concert on campus for Earth week. We went to see a band that we are so hoping to photograph some publicity shots for, Resonant Soul. They were awesome and we had a great time. They are playing again this week and we plan to go.

Tonight we have our first wedding of the season. We are really looking forward to working with Hollie and Sam. They are such nice people and have a laid back wedding planned to fit thier personalities.
